Primary Wing

The Primary Wing of AIS School is designed to provide students with a good education base as well as to have the courage to experiment with their talents. Children in Classes 1 to 5 enter into a learning environment that is happy, disciplined and opportunity-filled. At this level, we consider the development of the necessary skills in the fields of reading, writing, mathematics, science and communication. We have curiosity in our classrooms, which enhances creativity and independent thinking in such a way that students love the process of learning.

At AIS, we appreciate the fact that primary years determine the habits of a child, his/her values and attitude to education. Thus, the atmosphere is good, child-friendly and full of activities, which make all concepts easier to comprehend. Stories, experiments and visual tools, real-life examples and hands-on activities are used to teach lessons. Students are taught to comprehend, envision and practice what they read in preference to memorizing it.

Communication and expression are also important to us. Children are taught how to voice their thoughts in the speaking activities, role-play, group discussions and reading sessions. The school library promotes good reading behavior through the use of storybooks, reference books and learning material of the respective age. Reading activities aid children in developing imagination, vocabulary and comprehension.

The Primary Wing has an important component in physical development. The students are engaged in sports, yoga, drills, and outdoor games, which make them active and healthy. This goes with discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship. Classroom sessions through art and craft and classes in music and dance enable children to explore their novel side and develop their confidence and value of various forms of expression.

During these years, emotional development is also of importance. Educators make sure that they teach the students values such as kindness, honesty, respect and responsibility. Healthy interaction and confidence-building activities promote classroom behavior, which can aid the students in experiencing a strong sense of self. The teachers also closely monitor every child with the view to knowing their strengths and areas that require assistance.

AIS School has frequent communication with parents in terms of meetings, reports and updates. This collaboration makes sure that the child is given regular care at home and at school.
